Set a Stop-or-Continue Rule Before Committing Capital
Before a capital commitment, agree on the evidence that would change the decision. Record the assumption being tested, the information needed, who can act and what would trigger a pause or revised plan.
Keep the base, downside and fallback cases separate. Identify the fallback’s unresolved conditions rather than treating it as an automatic replacement. Review the decision conditions before spending becomes binding.
Don McClain’s October 14 archive perspective provides the framework. Medro Advisors can discuss how the decision fits the owner’s growth and ownership priorities.
