Medro Advisors Introduces The Medro Brief and Publishes Four-Part Owner Readiness Series
September 6, 2026
By Don McClain | Founder, Medro Advisors
Medro Advisors has introduced The Medro Brief, its flagship newsletter examining the connections among capital, business growth, acquisitions, and ownership transition.
The inaugural edition leads a September 6 publishing series that includes the Capital Advisory Report from Fast Commercial Capital, Growth Capital Insights from Fasty Funding, and the Ownership Transition Report from Alianza Partners.
Together, the four editions address a practical question: How can an owner prepare the business for its next important decision?
The series moves from Medro’s broader strategic perspective into three areas of preparation: evaluating financing, organizing a funding request, and reducing dependence on the owner before an eventual transition.
THE MEDRO BRIEF — INAUGURAL EDITION
The Medro Brief: A Connected Perspective on Capital, Growth, and Ownership
By Don McClain | Medro Advisors
The inaugural edition introduces Medro Advisors’ perspective and explains what readers can expect from its flagship publication.
Financing, expansion, acquisitions, and ownership transition influence one another. The Medro Brief will examine those relationships through practical questions and frameworks for business owners, entrepreneurs, and investors.
The opening edition asks readers to consider what they want their business to make possible over the next three years—and whether current decisions support that outcome.

CAPITAL ADVISORY REPORT — FAST COMMERCIAL CAPITAL
Before You Borrow: Five Questions Every Business Owner Should Answer
By Don McClain | Fast Commercial Capital
This edition examines five questions to address before pursuing commercial financing:
• What must the capital accomplish?
• What cash flow will support the obligation?
• Does the financing timeline match the execution plan?
• How much liquidity will remain after closing?
• How will the obligation affect the owner’s next decision?
The article connects financing terms to operating requirements, repayment plans, reserves, and future flexibility.

By Don McClain | Fasty Funding
This edition introduces the three C’s as a framework for preparing a business funding request: cash flow, credit, and collateral.
It encourages owners to understand their financial position, organize supporting records, clarify what an application authorizes, and connect the proposed funding to a defined use and repayment plan.
The article also addresses the importance of evaluating the complete financing commitment, including payment frequency, fees, guarantees, and collateral requirements where applicable.

OWNERSHIP TRANSITION REPORT — ALIANZA PARTNERS
Before You Sell: Build a Business That Can Operate Without You
By Don McClain | Alianza Partners
This edition examines owner dependence as a starting point for ownership-transition preparation.
It outlines steps for documenting operating knowledge, sharing responsibility for customer relationships, organizing financial information, and giving employees clear decision-making authority.
A practical 90-day framework helps owners identify critical dependencies, document and delegate responsibilities, and test continuity before a transaction requires it.
The central question: If the owner stepped away for 30 days, what would stop working?

ONE CONNECTED PERSPECTIVE
Each publication serves a distinct purpose.
The Medro Brief connects the broader strategic questions.
The Capital Advisory Report examines commercial capital and financing decisions.
Growth Capital Insights addresses business funding and capital readiness.
The Ownership Transition Report focuses on preparing for acquisitions, succession, and changes in ownership.
Together, they reflect Medro Advisors’ guiding principle: capital, growth, and ownership strategy should be considered together.
An owner preparing to borrow may also be planning an acquisition. An expanding business may need stronger management and reporting. An owner considering a future sale may benefit from improving financial records and operational continuity today.
The September 6 series gives readers a starting point for examining those connections.
